CK Celebrates Volunteerism with New Jersey Reentry Corporation
March 17, 2026
NEWARK, NJ – The CK team once again came together last week to support New Jersey Reentry Corporation for the firm’s second annual Day of Service. Attorneys, staff, and their families worked together with other volunteers to unload, sort, and pack 13,000 pounds of food from the Community Food Bank of New Jersey for distribution by NJRC.
“CK has a strong history and tradition of civic involvement and community service,” noted Tom Calcagni. “It’s rewarding to work with an organization like NJRC. The programming they offer bolsters our neighbors on the margins in nearly every way.” Eric Kanefsky explained that “while CK attorneys offer pro bono legal services throughout the year, when we come together like this for a compassionate cause, to make a direct impact on a specific issue like food insecurity, it solidifies us as a team. We all benefit from our unified purpose.”
NJRC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that offers comprehensive wraparound services to those returning from addiction treatment, jail or prison, or the theater of combat. CK encourages everyone to join in its effort to support NJRC and its work with returning citizens, employers, and community partners to remove all barriers to safety, health, and employment.
