CK has built its reputation on the high-stakes matters it handles and the outstanding results we achieve. We are known for our exceptional white-collar criminal defense and investigations practice and complex civil litigation. We represent companies and professionals in investigations and prosecutions by the Department of Justice and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the State Attorneys General, and State Licensing Boards. We also serve as court-appointed monitors and compliance counsel for companies in various industries.
As CK grows, we remain committed to curating a team that prizes collegiality and professional synergy. Firm culture is as important as our legal successes. We value mutual respect and individual well-being as meaningful components to professional satisfaction, and we support each other along the journey. CK hosts professional development and guidance, career mentorship, weekly team check-ins, and social outings. We also enthusiastically support and celebrate each other’s non-profit and pro bono interests and community-betterment pursuits.
Attorneys
We hire seasoned litigators with a record of academic and professional excellence, generally with at least 5 years of experience in a coveted government office or top-tier litigation department. The firm provides opportunity for substantial responsibility and leadership over billable and pro bono matters. Experience in white collar or complex civil litigation is strongly preferred, and we especially value public service including judicial-clerkship experience.
Professional Staff
Our paralegals and legal assistants are highly regarded for their ability to handle significant responsibility across multiple practice areas and various aspects of law firm operations. While prior law firm experience is valued, applicants should be self-motivated and welcoming of challenge, ideally with a record of working in a dynamic setting.
Summer Program
CK’s summer associate program is open to rising 3Ls. Summer associates take on many attorney responsibilities, working with team members on litigation and investigations, attending court appearances and depositions, and drafting pleadings. CK summer associates are afforded the opportunity to work on both criminal and civil, billable and pro bono matters. The program includes a professional development series spearheaded by CK’s own team of attorneys, as well as social outings that promote lasting relationships among colleagues.
