CK partners with New Jersey Reentry Corporation for its Inaugural Day of Service
March 28, 2025
NEWARK, NJ – The CK team took part in the firm’s first annual Day of Service on Monday, supporting New Jersey Reentry Corporation in its efforts to battle food insecurity. CK attorneys and staff worked together with other volunteers to unload, sort, and pack thousands of pounds of food from the Community Food Bank of New Jersey for distribution by NJRC.
NJRC’s food drives support communities across the state. Jada Fulmore, Director of Community Outreach at NJRC, noted that New Jerseyans are experiencing a marked increase in food insecurity, and that NJRC’s work in this area is vital to its clients and their families.
The entire CK firm shared in this meaningful day of service as a team. “We have a terrific tradition of partnership with NJRC, which includes helping with pro bono legal projects. We very much believe in NJRC’s mission and the help it provides, and we wanted to continue our support in a hands-on way,” noted Tom Calcagni. Eric Kanefsky explained that “this was time well spent, and the experience was a powerful reminder of the civic-mindedness we all share as individuals and a law firm.”
NJRC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that offers comprehensive wraparound services to those returning from addiction treatment, jail or prison, or the theater of combat. CK encourages everyone to join in its effort to support NJRC and its work with returning citizens, employers, and community partners to remove all barriers to safety, health, and employment.
